NCC Reports Restoration of Voice and Data Services to 90% Capacity Following Undersea Fiber Optic Disruption
Following the outage on March 14, 2024, caused by undersea fiber optic cuts along the coasts of Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has confirmed the restoration of services to nearly 90% of their peak capacity.
Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, announced the development, expressing gratitude to consumers for their patience during the downtime. Mobile Network Operators have activated alternative connections to ensure optimal functioning while awaiting full repairs of the undersea cables.
